The Circle of The Blackthorn or COTB started just like any cult, with an idea. The cult formed around the idea that Arachaic, a night elf, was a titan. Many people brushed this off as crazy talk were as others clung to it. Before long Arachaic had a rather large group of followers. At first it seemed harmless. He spoke of caring for the world of Azaroth and called for a joining of the Alliance and the Horde.
Soon, Arachaic's teachings took a turn to a darker way of life. He was able to brainwash his followers into doing things for him. They performed rituals requiring sacrifices of animals and young humanoids alike. Their name whispered throughout Stormwind and they soon became a thing of legend, something that only existed to scare children. But, the terrible truth was that they did indeed exist.
Arachaic continues to recruit followers that devote themselves to his campaign of death and power. Word has it from some of his higher cabinet that he is going to make a play for Kil'jaeden's throne and take the reins of The Burning Legion. Arachaic claims to be the brother to Kil'jaeden. Which would explain why he and his "brother" seem to think alike...
